Misc Things Since I Don't Update

- Well, we still are not sure what the new baby is (a small
human! HURRRR!), boy or girl. We have a few more weeks until Elaine
has a sonogram to find out. I'm really hoping for a girl. But I
think I'll be happy with eiher. I just really want it to have all
10 fingers and toes, two eyes and a nose.
We talked a little bit about what we would do if there was some sort of problem. I would just hope that I was strong enough as a person, not just a Father, to handle that.
- The boys are back to playing Hockey again. They start the new
season this Saturday at 0845. Yay, for early practices in another
City.
- What the heck are the Dallas Stars up to? They have signed a
bunch of rookies and goons. So much for this year being THE year,
again. This is getting old.
- Work is going very slowly. I don't think I've ever seen the
Federal Government run as slow as Cook Children's. Hopefully with
our continued pants kicking we can get the place to wake up and
make the changes needed. Our big log consolidation and audit
project is just a few weeks away from starting. Finally.
- On the family thing again. Finding transportation that fits six
kids plus Elaine and I is rather difficult. Such is life being an
anomaly in modern day society.
- I bought an iPhone the day they came out. This is probably the
most amazing piece of technology that I've ever owned. It is simply
awesome. I had no need for all the "Enterprise" features of Windows
Mobile (like crashing and being slow) so this thing is perfect. It
places calls, plays music, stores photos, surfs the Internet, and
handles my reminders and calendar. Just what I need. So, Windows
Mobile based "smartphones" can go die in a ditch.
- Elaine recently became a Mac convert. She picked up a cute little white Macbook. Glad to get her off that aging Dell she had. She seems much happier. Things still confuse her though, I just remind her to try to do things the way she thinks they should be done. Nintey nine percent of the time that's how it does work on a Mac.
